Matthew’s Influence?

PMP

This page links to my opinions on the question of whether Matthew’s ideas influenced the scientific community between 1831 and 1860, and on related questions such as whether Darwin plagiarised his ideas from Matthew. These opinion pieces are designed to counter the opinions of Dr Mike Sutton. I believe most of Dr Sutton’s conclusions to be wrong, and based on incorrect interpretation of the data at hand.

  • Mathew’s Influence? My original opinion piece on whether Matthew’s ideas influenced the scientific community between 1831 and 1860, with a reply by Mike Sutton.
  • Darwin’s Lies? My opinion piece on whether Darwin lied in certain statements he made regarding the transmission of Matthew’s ideas to the scientific community between 1831 and 1860.

Joachim D. has also produced a detailed series of blog posts unpicking the evidence put forward by Dr Sutton, under the title “Did Darwin plagiarize Matthew?”: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7.
